Projects supported by MISTRAL Pediatric may originate
from a third-party clinician or developer, or from an SRI- or Stanford-internal
working group. In some cases, the technology or device will be well developed
and need a commercialization plan; in other cases the project will start
with a clinical need for which a device or technology has yet to be developed.
Each type of project requires different levels of support and a strategy
for advancing into the market place. MISTRAL Pediatric evaluates each project,
performs a cost-benefit analysis, and determines the level and kind of
support it can offer within the context of an overall strategy for bringing
the device or idea into the market. To evaluate each project, we follow
the Design Opportunity Initial Analysis process at right.
